Structadene

About

The Structadene Group is a successful and expanding private property business with a substantial portfolio of commercial and residential investment properties. It is also active in residential development, mostly in conjunction with partners. Founded in 1978 by David Pearl, now Chairman and Chief Executive, Structadene evolved out of Pearl & Coutts, an estate agency and management business set up by Pearl in 1965.

Highly acquisitive, the group has worked hard to improve the quality of its portfolio, its tenant base and to minimise voids. Many of the properties are located in London's West End, although the geographical net has widened considerably.

Recent acquisitions include properties in Scotland, Wales and the Heart of England, as well as prestigious City and Midtown locations in London.

At the end of 2003, Structadene completed its takeover of Newport Holdings plc, adding 80 properties, worth approximately £160m, to the group's already substantial portfolio. Newport's emphasis on well-let retail properties across the country has improved the mix within the Structadene portfolio, where the emphasis was more on offices and residential property.

Structadene's strategy is to spread risk over a large number of buildings and tenants in a wide range of business sectors. All types of investment are considered - from shops, offices and warehouses to farmland, houses or flats. Although central London properties are preferred, the group will always give careful consideration to any location which offers good value and potential for capital growth.

Structadene occupies modern offices in Islington and employs a large team of in-house specialists, covering a wide variety of skills to ensure maximum efficiency from the portfolio. The group plans further growth across all areas of its business.
